The 101 Theory app uses a dictionary approach to help students and professionals, from any field, quickly search and define popular human behavior and practice theories. It also aids in learning what is, purposes, applications, and benefits of theory. The flashcards define the theory and present the theory's guiding principles in a user-friendly, condensed format for everyday theory use. The multiple choice section helps students increase their memory recall, proficiency, and competency with the theory knowledge to which they were exposed. This application was developed by Dr. Carolyn Gentle-Genitty, PhD using the Study by App mobile development software. Dr. Carolyn Gentle-Genitty, PhD is a book and journal author, a Student-Centered researcher, a Translating Research into Practice Scholar and Assistant Professor at Indiana University in the School of Social Work in Indianapolis. She has over 15 years teaching social work theory and practice nationally and internationally. Much of her work and research has resulted in varied products leading to her known expertise as an educational and research model developer including model for teaching, applying and evaluating theory SALT (Strengths, Areas of Focus, Limitations, and Theories to redress), a Millennial Learner Comparison and Response model, a Truancy Assessment Model and worksheet, a TDPE (Teach, Demonstrate, Practice, and Evaluate) teaching framework, a PHEGS (Problem, History, Environment, Goals, and Strengths) analysis for solution-focused counseling and an instrument developer (Perception of School Social Bonding PSSB) currently used in schools to assess opportunities for students engagement.
